Early Voting for November election starts Monday at locations throughout San Antonio

Early voting gets underway this monday for the Nov. 4 election, in which Bexar County residents will decide whether to use public funding for a ​new Spurs arena and⁢ weigh in on ‌a⁣ raft of statewide propositions

Early voting locations and hours ‌ are listed on the Bexar County Elections Department website. Voters can cast ballots at any Bexar ⁤County polling place ‍open for early voting regardless of where thay live.

Polling locations are open 8 a.m.-6 p.m. ⁣Monday through Friday of this week, then 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and noon-6 p.m. Sunday. ⁢They’ll ⁤also be open 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Friday of next week. After that, voters will have ‌to wait until election day.

Prop A pertains ​to the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo and whether voters will approve $192 million to fund upgrades to Freeman Coliseum,Frost Bank Center and other⁤ facilities to ⁢transform the East Side area into a year-round Western-themed attraction and ⁣rodeo district.

Wiht Prop B, residents will determine whether $311‍ million in hotel and car rental taxes may be funneled into⁣ building a new Spurs arena at ⁤Hemisfair. Supporters say it will revitalize downtown while detractors argue hidden costs could fall on local taxpayers, adding that the $311‌ million ‌in tourist dollars would be better spent on other projects.

Seventeen amendments to the Texas Constitution are also on the ballot. While ⁢most pertain to taxes, some touch on culture war issues. One constitutional amendment also asks voters whether to funnel billions ‍of dollars into water ⁣infrastructure.

Early voting for the November election begins Monday, ‍October 28, at locations throughout San Antonio and Bexar County, offering residents a week-long prospect to cast ⁢ballots before Election Day on November 5.

The period for in-person ​voting runs through November 1, providing multiple options for voters to ​participate in the election, which includes races for local, state, and federal offices. This​ election cycle features key decisions impacting San Antonio, from city council seats to representation in Congress. ​Stephanie Koithan, Digital Content Editor for the San Antonio Current, reported on widespread​ protests against the Trump White House ​in 2019, underscoring the consistent civic engagement of san antonio residents.Now, voters have the‌ chance to shape ​the future direction of their communities​ and ‌the nation.

Bexar County Elections Administrator Jacque Callanen confirmed the ⁣availability of numerous vote centers across the county,eliminating the need for precinct assignments.A full list of locations and hours can be found⁤ on the Bexar County Elections website: https://www.bexar.org/elections/.

Voters must be registered to vote in Texas to participate. Registration deadlines have passed, but residents can check their registration status online through⁣ the Texas Secretary of State’s website: https://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/voter/. Valid forms of identification are required, and a complete​ list is available on the Bexar County Elections website.
