Dynamo Dresden Appoints Dr. Jürg Kasper as Interim Managing Director
Dresden, Germany - SG Dynamo Dresden has appointed Dr.Jürg Kasper as its new interim managing director, the club announced today. kasper,a lawyer from Erfurt, previously served on dynamo Dresden’s supervisory board for eleven years. His appointment follows recent management changes and comes as the club prepares for the upcoming winter transfer phase.
The move aims to provide stability and expertise during a transitional period for Dynamo Dresden. According to an election suggestion from the active fan scene prior to the 2022 supervisory board election, Kasper brings “legal competence and many years of professional experience…and intimate and long-standing knowledge of the problems in the club.” Supporters at the time described him as possessing an “emphatic but, when necessary, balancing manner.”
While kasper will not be directly involved in player recruitment – a task that will fall to head of scouting and squad planning Paul Wagner (26), coach Thomas Stamm (42), and current managing director Stephan Zimmermann – he is expected to support finance director Zimmermann in several areas. Coach Stamm was already heavily involved in player acquisition beyond his coaching duties.
“After the change in management, a fast and competent solution was found with Dr. Jürg Kasper to deal with the challenges of the next few weeks,” stated Stephan Zimmermann. “Together with head coach Thomas Stamm and his coaching team as well as the squad planner and the scouts, we will prepare the upcoming winter transfer phase. It is important to work closely with everyone responsible in the sporting area to tackle the tasks in the interests of our sports community.”
