The Sony PlayStation DualSense Edge wireless controller is currently available for $169, a $30 discount, at Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy as part of Sony’s holiday promotion. This price is just $10 above its previous lowest recorded price.The black version of the controller, which is rarely discounted by this amount, is also included in the sale.
For PlayStation 5 gamers seeking enhanced customization,the DualSense Edge offers features beyond the standard DualSense controller. Users can create up to four custom profiles, adjusting button mapping, stick sensitivity, and rear button commands, and seamlessly switch between them during gameplay. The controller also allows for adjustable trigger sensitivity (L2/R2) tailored to different game genres – more sensitive for shooters like Call of Duty: Black Ops 7,or less sensitive for racing games – and features replaceable stick modules.
The Verge‘s review noted the controller’s deep software integration with the PS5, allowing for profile creation optimized for games like Ghost of Yōtei and Arc Raiders. However, the review also highlighted a drawback: the DualSense edge averages approximately eight hours of battery life on a full charge, less than the standard DualSense. It includes a locking charging cable to prevent accidental disconnection.
