Chaka Khan and Dua Lipa Deliver Show-Stopping Collaboration in Chicago
CHICAGO, IL – Dua Lipa brought a legendary surprise to her Chicago performance on Wednesday, August 30, inviting Chaka Khan onstage for a vibrant rendition of Khan’s 1983 hit, “Ain’t Nobody.” Video footage circulating online captures the electrifying moment as the two vocal powerhouses joined forces, sending the crowd into a frenzy.
The unexpected collaboration highlights Lipa’s ongoing “Radical Optimism“ tour, which is currently traversing North America. This tour follows the release of her third studio album, Radical Optimism, in September. Beyond the music, Lipa has recently been in the spotlight for personal milestones and advocacy work. In June, she confirmed her engagement to actor Callum Turner, describing the decision to “grow old together” as “a realy special feeling” in an interview with british Vogue.
Lipa’s recent activities also include receiving Kosovan citizenship in August, an honor bestowed upon her by the country’s president who hailed her as ”one of the most iconic cultural figures in our country’s history.” She also publicly challenged British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s response to an open letter calling for an end to “UK complicity” in Gaza, alongside other prominent figures.
Prior to the Chicago show, Lipa concluded a series of performances at Wembley Stadium in June, documented in the mini-documentary Dua Lipa – The Beat Before (Wembley Stadium). She was also seen with Kevin Parker of Tame Impala in Sydney earlier this year.
