Dreamland Anime to Premiere in Cinemas Ahead of ADN Release

September 5, 2026 Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor Entertainment

ADN announced that the first seventy minutes of the upcoming anime adaptation of Reno Lemaire’s manga Dreamland will premiere in participating cinemas across France on September 18 and 20, 2026, ahead of its official streaming debut on the platform in October 2026.

Theatrical Rollout and Ticket Sales for the Manga Adaptation

The transition from page to screen arrives as the franchise celebrates its twentieth anniversary in 2026. The special theatrical screenings will be presented exclusively in French, offering a communal event for long-time readers of the series before the ten-episode series begins its weekly streaming run in October 2026.

Production Background and Milestone Anniversary

Published by Pika Édition since 2006, Dreamland stands as a prominent French manga title, boasting twenty-four published tomes and over 800,000 copies sold. The production of the ten-episode anime series is managed by studios Ellipse Animation and La Chouette Compagnie, with ADN participating as a co-producer. Outlets note that a simulcast distribution strategy is planned across platforms including ADN and Crunchyroll.

The narrative centers on Terrence, an eighteen-year-old character marked by the childhood loss of his mother in a fire. Upon conquering his fear of flames, he discovers the ability to control fire and accesses Dreamland, a realm shaped by human dreams where he operates as a traveler fighting nightmare lords by night.

Streaming Windows and Audience Engagement

The sequential release model places theatrical previews nearly a month prior to the SVOD rollout. Following the mid-September cinema screenings, the series will debut its weekly episodes in October 2026.
