Drake Rumored to Headline Coachella 2027

Drake Rumored to Headline Coachella 2027

October 3, 2026 Emma Walker – News Editor News

Drake is rumored to headline the 2027 Coachella Music & Arts Festival in Indio, California, after appearing in an industry tip sheet published on October 2, 2026. The speculation positions the OVO Sound leader as a strong contender to return to the desert festival more than a decade after his initial 2015 headlining slot and subsequent 2017 surprise appearance.

The festival discussion emerged from Hits Daily Double’s “Hits List” column. According to that industry report, Drake is currently in the conversation to anchor the multi-day event next year.

Industry Reports Place the OVO Sound Leader in Coachella Discussions

The rumor gained traction when Hits Daily Double published its Friday list naming the rapper as a contender for the 2027 desert lineup. AceShowbiz noted that the speculation has already generated widespread anticipation among fans waiting for formal confirmation.

XXL reached out to Drake’s representatives for comment regarding the festival rumor but has not received a response. The artist has a prior history with the event, having topped the bill in 2015—a performance widely remembered for a stage appearance by Madonna—before returning unannounced during Future’s 2017 set.

Drake Plans Global Tour for 2027

The festival speculation coincides with active touring plans for the upcoming year. Drake released a trifecta of albums in May—titled Iceman, Maid of Honour, and Habibti—and committed to hitting the road in 2027 to support them. In a September interview with Etalk Canada, the rapper confirmed that global touring is firmly on the horizon.

Coinciding with the Hits List publication, an expanded edition of Habibti (FOMO) dropped featuring four new tracks tied to his short film project, Fear Of Missing Out (FOMO). The updated project includes “Solar Eclipse” featuring Don Toliver, a remix of Ella Langley’s country hit “Choosin’ Texas,” “Québec,” “Classic Pt. 2,” and a collaboration with Yebba and Don Toliver titled “Cold Shoulder.” New music videos supporting both Maid of Honour and Habibti tracks accompanied the release, alongside visuals for “Cheetah Print” featuring Sexyy Red.

Festival Lineup Timelines and Unresolved Questions

Conversely, past festival rumor cycles indicate that early tip-sheet whispers do not always materialize into finalized contracts.

Coachella organizers typically withhold official lineup posters months in advance of the spring dates in Indio. Whether the 6 God will officially take the primary stage for 2027 remains unconfirmed by festival promoters, and representatives for the artist have not verified the scheduling report.
