Dover Police refuted claims circulating on social media regarding the presence of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) or the National Guard during law enforcement activity at the Country Club Apartments on Friday, February 27, 2026.

According to a statement released by the Dover Police Department on their Facebook page, the operation was conducted by the department’s Specialized Response and Tactics (SORT) team as part of an ongoing criminal investigation. Authorities emphasized that the enforcement action was not related to immigration matters and did not involve federal immigration agencies or the National Guard.

The department responded to reports that had been spreading on social media platforms, which falsely alleged the involvement of ICE and the National Guard. Shore News Network reported that the rumors surfaced following a significant law enforcement presence at the apartment complex.

Police confirmed that multiple arrests were made during the operation, and that those arrests were conducted without incident. Further details regarding the arrests and the nature of the criminal investigation are expected to be released at a later date, according to the Dover Police Department.

WGMD reported that the Dover Police Department’s Facebook statement was intended to directly address and dispel the inaccurate information circulating online. The department has not yet specified the charges related to the arrests.
