Donald Trump’s Latest Stock Trades Reveal Major Purchases of Palantir, Nvidia, and SpaceX

August 23, 2026 Priya Shah – Business Editor Business

President Donald Trump purchased between $247,008 and $630,000 worth of Palantir Technologies stock during the first quarter of 2026, according to financial disclosure records released by the U.S. Office of Government Ethics.

The latest disclosures expose the intersection of presidential stock trading, executive authority, and the rapidly modernizing defense sector. For institutional investors tracking regulatory compliance, these filings offer a rare window into discretionary portfolio balancing executed by third-party managers.

The Palantir Timeline: Trades, Disclosures, and Social Media Promotion

Federal records show that in March 2026 alone, President Trump made at least seven purchases of Palantir stock totaling up to $530,000, as reported by CNBC. Weeks after acquiring the equity, Trump praised the defense technology company on Truth Social as shares suffered their worst week in over a year amid an intensifying software selloff driven by the Iran war and short-seller pressure from Michael Burry.

The filings note several transactions were marked as “unsolicited,” meaning they bypassed direct broker recommendations. A Trump Organization spokesperson emphasized that the president’s holdings are managed exclusively through fully discretionary accounts by third-party financial institutions without input or advance notice from the Trump family.

White House spokesman David Ingle confirmed that the assets are held in a trust managed by the president’s children, maintaining that no conflicts of interest exist. Palantir declined to comment on the disclosures. The defense tech firm has increasingly aligned with the administration’s military modernization goals, sponsoring the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary parade last June.

Broad Tech Shuffling Across the Portfolio

Palantir was not the only major technology holding targeted during the first quarter. Office of Government Ethics documents show Trump bought between $1 million and $5 million worth of AI chipmaker Nvidia in February. Around the same period, Nvidia expanded its AI partnership with Meta Platforms. ServiceNow, Workday, Oracle, and Microsoft also absorbed between $1 million and $5 million each during the broader software sector pullback.

Additional purchases included upwards of $1 million in Amazon, Apple, and Broadcom shares. Conversely, the portfolio experienced significant divestments. In June, the portfolio reshuffling involved selling notable equities including Meta Platforms, while accumulating shares in Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway, according to reporting by CNBC.

Navigating massive portfolio realignments while avoiding compliance pitfalls demands rigorous institutional accounting.

Market Implications and the Path Forward

The OGE records underscore a high volume of transactions totaling hundreds of millions of dollars across thousands of individual trades. With defense contractors like Palantir disrupting traditional aerospace systems long dominated by legacy players like Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman, executive stock activity in these sectors will remain under intense public and regulatory examination through upcoming fiscal quarters.

As institutional investors adjust their allocations to align with modern defense tech and artificial intelligence spending, maintaining compliance infrastructure remains paramount.
