Dolly Parton, 79, Postpones Las Vegas Shows for Medical Procedures
LAS VEGAS – Country music icon Dolly Parton, 79, has announced the postponement of her upcoming Las Vegas concerts after doctors recommended medical procedures, according to a statement released today. The singer addressed fans directly via social media, explaining the difficult decision.
Parton wrote,”I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately,I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts.” no specific details regarding the nature of the medical procedures were disclosed.
This declaration follows Parton’s recent cancellation of a scheduled appearance at Dollywood earlier this month, sparking initial concerns about her health. The singer previously underwent treatment for kidney stones, having three removed in 2015. At the time, she stated,”I’m doing just fine.”
the postponement comes amidst a period of personal loss for Parton, who mourned the death of her husband, Carl Dean, earlier this year at age 82. In a May interview with Savannah Guthrie of Today, Parton reflected on their 60-year marriage, saying, “I’ve loved him since I was 18 years old.” She expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support she received following Dean’s passing, noting, “I had no idea Carl dean was so famous.”
Despite the recent challenges, Parton appeared in good health during her video message and assured fans of her intention to return to Dollywood in the future. She told Knox News several weeks after Dean’s death, “I’m doing better than I thought I would…I’ll keep him always close.” parton also revealed Dean had suffered greatly before his death, adding, “I’m at peace that he’s at peace, but that don’t keep me from missing him and loving him.”
