Dodgers Even World Series with 5-1 Victory Over Blue Jays
Los Angeles – The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 5-1 in Game 2 of the World Series, tying the series at 1-1. The game, played at Rogers Centre in Toronto, saw a dominant pitching performance from Dodgers starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto and timely hitting from Will Smith and Max Muncy.
Yamamoto limited the Blue Jays to just four hits across the entire game, showcasing the control and composure that has defined his postseason run. His performance mirrored a strong showing in the Championship Series against the Milwaukee Brewers. Yamamoto’s complete game is a rare feat; the last pitcher to throw complete games in consecutive postseason starts was Johnny Cueto between 2015 and 2016, while Curt Schilling was the last to accomplish the feat in a single playoff edition in 2001.
The game remained scoreless until the seventh inning when both Smith and Muncy hit solo home runs off blue Jays starter Kevin Gausman. Gausman had previously retired 17 consecutive batters before Smith broke the streak.
The series now shifts to Los Angeles, with Games 3, 4, and 5 scheduled for Dodger Stadium in chavez Ravine. The Dodgers will aim to capitalize on home-field advantage and take control of the World Series.
