Rome‘s Carabinieri Nas have placed a doctor under house arrest after he was caught performing surgery in a private home in Rome.This action halts the doctor’s risky and illegal medical practice, as he was already suspended from his profession due to a previous offence. the strong evidence gathered by the military led the judicial authority to issue the precautionary measure for private violence.
The doctor, who had been suspended from practicing medicine following another criminal investigation, was discovered with surgical equipment in an apartment in Rome’s Quadraro district. He was reportedly preparing to perform an otoplasty on a South American individual.
Previous Investigation for Woman’s Death
The earlier suspension stemmed from judicial proceedings where the doctor faced accusations of performing an unauthorized procedure and private violence. The Rome Prosecutor’s Office also investigated him for the death of a woman who experienced complications after a liposuction procedure. Despite these serious charges, the doctor continued his work. He operated without regard for any bans or basic hygienic standards, even in conditions where residents’ dogs were present in the room where he was performing surgery.
Surveillance footage revealed the doctor,assisted by a retired nurse,wearing surgical attire and holding instruments. He was found operating on a young South American woman lying on a makeshift bed in a bedroom. The room also contained shoes, clothing, and general dirt. Doctors at Policlinico Casilino’s emergency room confirmed that the woman had already received local anesthetic injections for the procedure.
