Disney+ Renews Spidey and His Amazing Friends for Season 7
Disney+ has officially renewed Marvel’s most-watched television series, Marvel’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends, for a seventh season following a massive streaming milestone of nearly 1.3 billion hours viewed on the platform, as announced during the D23 Expo.
The renewal news arrived during the Celebrate 65 Years of Marvel’s Spider-Man! panel, where Alyssa Sapire, head of Disney Jr., Original Programming and Strategy, revealed the multi-season trajectory for the animated hit. The series centers on Peter Parker, Gwen Stacy, and Miles Morales as they team up with various superheroes to navigate challenges and emphasize the value of teamwork.
While seasons one through four remain fully accessible on Disney+, Season 5 is currently airing with the strongest start of any new season since Season 1. Looking ahead at the production calendar, Disney has scheduled the sixth season to premiere in 2027, with the newly greenlit seventh season following in 2028.
Behind the animation pipeline, the creative team features executive producers Harrison Wilcox, Bart Jennett, and Chris Moreno. Becca Topol serves as co-executive producer and editor, while Steve Grover handles supervising producer duties. Music plays a central role in the brand’s equity, anchored by Grammy Award-nominated musician Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy, who serves as the songwriter and composer.
Expanding the IP Through Special Event Programming
Beyond the multi-season renewal, Disney utilized the D23 panel to debut a first look at upcoming holiday-themed content designed to drive seasonal viewership spikes. Spidey and the Avengers: Halloween Team-Up! is slated to premiere on Thursday, September 24, 2026, airing across Disney Jr. and Disney Jr. on Demand before landing on Disney+ the following day.
The Halloween special introduces fresh antagonists to the franchise’s expanding universe. Patrick Stump and fellow Grammy Award-nominated musician Este Haim of HAIM lend their voices to the new villains, Jack O’Lantern and Hallows Eve, respectively. In tandem with their voice acting roles, the musicians penned two original songs for the special. Walt Disney Records released these tracks on August 16, 2026, across all major digital streaming platforms.
