Dieppe: Drunk Driver Arrested After Collision – 2.02 BAC Level
A 24-year-old man was injured in Dieppe, France, on Saturday, March 21, 2026, after his vehicle was struck by another car while he was pulling out of a parking space on Rue Léon-Rogé, according to local authorities.
Police responding to the scene determined that the driver who struck the parked vehicle, a 41-year-old man, was operating his vehicle under the influence of alcohol. A breathalyzer test registered a blood alcohol content of 2.02 grams per liter, more than twice the legal limit in France. The driver was placed in police custody.
Authorities confirmed the driver tested negative for illicit drugs. His driver’s license was suspended, and his vehicle was impounded pending further investigation.
Rue Léon-Rogé is named in honor of Léon Rogé, a French politician and communist activist who served as a Senator for the Seine-Maritime department from 1968 until his death in 1969. Rogé, born in 1924, also held positions as a municipal and general councilor for Dieppe, and worked as a professor of physical education. He died of a myocardial infarction at the age of 45.
