Hamburg, Germany – American guard Devon Daniels has joined Veolia Towers Hamburg for the remainder of the 2025-26 season, the club announced on February 11, 2026. The signing aims to bolster the team’s backcourt as they compete in the BKT EuroCup and the easyCredit BBL.

Daniels, 27, arrives from Lithuania and is expected to bring scoring power to the Hamburg offense. He is anticipated to arrive in Hamburg later this week and will undergo medical checks before joining team practices, according to club statements. He could witness playing time as early as next week.

“We have intensively searched for reinforcements on the guard positions and have found the right player in Devon,” said Head Coach Benka Barloschky. “He plays with a lot of calm and is simultaneously dangerous. He can create his own shot and also play off the ball.”

Daniels’ path to Hamburg has included stops in Serbia, Poland, and Greece as he adapted his game to the European style of basketball. Prior to his European career, Daniels faced challenges following a knee injury sustained during his time at North Carolina State University, which interrupted his college career after a promising start at the University of Utah alongside NBA champion Kyle Kuzma. He also spent time in the G-League attempting to establish himself.

The Veolia Towers Hamburg recently secured an upset victory on the road against the Skyliners Frankfurt, with Daniels contributing significantly to the 82-78 win. Daniels emphasized the team’s ability to manage Frankfurt’s runs and maintain composure, stating, “We did a excellent job handling the runs of Frankfurt. We only had problems when we didn’t have pace and when we weren’t able to control the defensive rebound.”

The addition of Daniels comes as Veolia Towers Hamburg currently holds a 4-10 record in the German easyCredit BBL. The team is 0-7 in Group A of the BKT EuroCup Regular Season, tied with three other teams at the bottom of the standings. The top two teams from each group will advance directly to the Quarterfinals, with the next four earning a spot in the Eighthfinals.

Angel Nunez recently rejoined Slask Wroclaw, signing a contract for the remainder of the 2025-26 season on Thursday, November 13, 2025.
