Devin Cleveland commits to Missouri men’s basketball
Four-star combo guard Devin Cleveland announced his commitment to Missouri men’s basketball on Friday during a CBS Sports broadcast, choosing the Tigers over finalists Michigan and TCU. Ranked No. 30 nationally in the Class of 2027 by 247Sports, the La Lumiere School product became the third member of Dennis Gates’s upcoming recruiting class.
Cleveland Chooses Missouri After Visiting Columbia
The Chicago native visited Columbia during Missouri’s Homecoming weekend, attending the football game against Florida. That trip followed an earlier official visit on Oct. 3, which 247Sports reported preceded his final choice between the black and gold, Michigan, and TCU. Cleveland first received a scholarship offer from Missouri on May 15, according to 247Sports, after which the coaching staff maintained weekly contact.
During his commitment announcement, Cleveland stated that Columbia felt like home. “I feel like it’s somewhere I can go get bigger, for sure, but also me just becoming a better man and an opportunity that they’ve been giving me,” he said during the broadcast.
Cleveland Joins Scottie Adkinson in Missouri Backcourt
Cleveland joins fellow four-star guard Scottie Adkinson in Missouri’s 2027 backcourt class. 247Sports National Basketball Director Eric Bossi described Cleveland as a lean and lanky combo guard capable of stretching defenses from deep while providing steady playmaking, contrasting him with Adkinson’s more aggressive style.
According to the 247Sports Class Calculator cited by 247Sports, the addition of Cleveland alongside Adkinson and four-star forward Cameron Barnes gives the Tigers a composite team score of 61.95. That figure ranks second nationally behind Houston.

Summer Circuit Performance
Prior to his commitment, Cleveland played on the Nike EYBL circuit with Brad Beal Elite. 247Sports reported that he led the team in scoring by averaging 16.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 0.8 steals per game, helping guide the squad to the Peach Jam Tournament.
Cleveland outlined his expectations for his eventual arrival in Columbia during his broadcast appearance. “They’re getting a hard worker, a person that’s willing to give his all to the team and the community surrounding me,” Cleveland said. “I’m just here to win championships, and that’s what I’m coming in to do.”
