Missouri Defeats Texas A&M 27-6 at Faurot Field
Texas A&M fell to No. 14 Missouri by a score of 27-6 on Saturday afternoon at Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium, dropping to 3-3 overall and 1-3 in Southeastern Conference play, according to 12thman.com. All six of the Aggies’ points came from David Olano, who connected on a 53-yard field goal in the first quarter and a 27-yarder in the fourth quarter.
The Aggies struggled to generate momentum on offense, managing just 216 total yards during the conference matchup. Quarterback Marcel Reed completed 19 of 39 pass attempts for 187 yards. Tight end Houston Thomas led the receiving corps with four receptions for 30 yards, while wide receiver TK Norman recorded a career-high 55 yards on three catches.
Missouri seized control through a balanced attack and key scoring plays. Cayden Lee caught a 32-yard touchdown pass early in the second quarter, and the Tigers added a 50-yard field goal before halftime. After intermission, Missouri extended its lead with a 51-yard field goal and a 2-yard rushing touchdown by Jamal Roberts late in the third quarter. Roberts later sealed the 27-6 final margin with a 54-yard touchdown run in the final period.
Defensively, senior nickelback Jordan Shaw paced Texas A&M with eight tackles, including a career-high 1.5 tackles for loss. Senior linebacker Daymion Sanford recorded his second career interception on the Tigers’ opening drive, marking the second consecutive game the Aggies have forced a turnover on their opponent’s first possession. Special teams also saw strong punting from Tyler White, who averaged 52.7 yards across seven punts.
Following the road defeat, Texas A&M returns to Kyle Field on Saturday, Oct. 17, to host a non-conference game against The Citadel with kickoff scheduled for 12 p.m.
