Lex Weston Returns to Devenish for Second Professional Fight
Belfast, Northern Ireland – rising boxing prospect Lex Weston is set to return to the Devenish Complex this Saturday, building on the momentum of his professional debut and aiming to close out the year with a victory. Weston, who transitioned to the paid ranks later in his boxing career, described his first walk to the ring in front of friends and family as a “surreal experience” and anticipates a similar atmosphere this weekend.
saturday’s card boasts a stacked lineup, including a title fight, promising a vibrant atmosphere at the devenish. Weston welcomes the rapid turnaround from his debut,emphasizing the importance of staying active and gaining experience as he looks ahead to 2026. “I’m delighted to be back out so quick,” he stated, thanking Hammer and Conlan Sports for the opportunity.
Weston’s opponent will be experienced away corner boxer Joe Hardy. The Belfast fighter acknowledges Hardy’s durability and expects a challenging four rounds, but remains confident in securing a “convincing win” through strong performance. “My opponent seems tricky and durable, so I’m expecting a tough four rounds,” Weston admitted.”However, I no that I’m more than capable.”
The young talent is focused on securing the win, adding with a laugh, ”A win is all that matters to me.” He hopes to deliver an exciting fight for his supporters, particularly with the christmas season approaching.
Weston credits the guidance of veteran boxer Poddy McCrory and coach Daniel Anderson for his growth. “It’s great having Poddy by my side…he’s been through it all and achieved so much,” he said.He also praised Anderson’s contributions to his game plan and ongoing enhancement. “The main advice is just trust the process, have faith and enjoy it,” Weston shared. “I know that I’ve put the work in this camp, so now it’s just about piecing the puzzle together.”
