Detroit, MI – A 20-year-old man is being sought by Detroit police in connection with a fatal shooting that occured early Saturday morning at a house party in the 19000 block of Rosewood Street. The victim, identified as 22-year-old Darius Lampkin of Detroit, was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to preliminary investigations, the shooting stemmed from a dispute over a woman at the party. Witnesses reported a heated argument escalating into a physical altercation before the suspect allegedly produced a handgun and fired, striking Lampkin. The incident took place at approximately 2:15 AM.
Police have identified the suspect as Kevin Lamontre Williams. A warrant has been issued for his arrest on charges of second-degree murder and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Williams is described as a Black male, approximately 6’0″ tall, weighing 170 pounds, with a medium complexion. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans.
