Xiaomi 17 Pro Max Camera to Feature Improved Telephoto Lens, Leaks Suggest
BEIJING, [Date of Publication – inferred from copyright as 2025] – New details emerging from Digital chat Station (DCS) indicate the upcoming Xiaomi 17 Pro Max will offer a refined camera experiance, particularly in it’s telephoto capabilities, while largely maintaining the core camera system of the Xiaomi 17 Pro. All three Xiaomi 17 models – the 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max – are anticipated to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, expected to be unveiled next week.
According to DCS, both the Pro and Pro Max models will share a 50MP main sensor with an f/1.67 aperture and an ultra-wide lens with a 17mm focal length. These components are co-engineered with Leica, building upon the sharp detail and color balance established in previous Xiaomi generations.
The key distinction lies in the telephoto lens. Both phones are projected to feature 5x optical zoom, however, the Pro Max is expected to utilize a wider f/2.6 aperture compared to the Pro’s f/3.0. This aperture difference is designed to allow more light to reach the sensor, perhaps enhancing image quality in low-light scenarios and producing a more pronounced bokeh effect in portrait photography.
Xiaomi appears to be positioning the Pro max as the superior choice for users prioritizing zoom functionality without considerably altering the overall product lineup. this subtle upgrade could give the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max a competitive edge against rivals heavily focused on zoom capabilities.
