“Demon Slayer – The Infinite Fortress” shatters Box Office Records, Delivers Visceral Action & Emotional Depth
Switzerland – Demon slayer – The Infinite Fortress, the highly anticipated sequel film to the Japanese anime sensation, has arrived in Swiss cinemas following its record-breaking success in Japan and a strong opening weekend in the United States. The film, directed by Haruo sotozaki, is already confirmed as Japan’s second most profitable film ever.
The story plunges hero Tanjiro Kamado and his companions, Zenitsu and Inosuke, into the “infinite fortress”-a sprawling, inverted megalopolis-after the villainous Muzan Kibsuji murders a pillar chief, one of the nine most powerful demon slayers. Within, they face the “moons,” the most powerful demons under Muzan’s command.
While promising stunning battles-featuring clashes between the heroes and three of the moons (Akaza, Kaigaku, and Doma)-the film transcends simple action, according to reviews. The fights are characterized by a variety of techniques blending natural elements, animals, and unique movements. Interwoven with the intense action are flashbacks exploring the origins and traumas of both heroes and demons, adding emotional resonance and depth to the conflicts.
Demon Slayer – The Infinite Fortress is based on the ongoing saga of Tanjiro Kamado’s fight against flesh-eating demons created by Muzan Kibsuji, alongside a group of “demons’ fenders.” Future installments are planned for release in 2027 and 2029.
The film received a rating of 4/5 from Rts.ch.
