A gunman disguised as a Deliveroo driver allegedly shot an eight-year-old girl and her father in London, a court has heard. The defendant, Mr. Reid, has pleaded not guilty to wounding wiht intent and multiple firearms offenses related to three separate shooting incidents.
prosecutors allege Mr. Reid carried out targeted shootings, meticulously planned and executed, using a Deliveroo e-bike as a disguise in each instance. The first shooting occurred on November 11th, with four shots fired at an address in north London linked to the father of the later victims; no injuries were reported. Thirteen days later, on December 4th, Mr. Reid allegedly shot the girl and her father while they were in thier car on Southern Row in Ladbroke Grove. “they had nowhere to escape to when the defendant opened fire on them,” prosecutor Mr. Goodwin told the court.
the victim initially told police the assailant was carrying a “kangaroo” bag before clarifying it was a “Deliveroo” bag while receiving treatment at the scene. Police tracked Mr. Reid’s car journeys to north-west London using CCTV, traffic cameras, and cell site data.
A 9mm self-loading pistol loaded with 17 live rounds was found hidden under a slab of concrete outside Mr. reid’s Uxbridge home, with his DNA found on the weapon. Forensic analysis linked the pistol to the third shooting. Partial DNA belonging to Mr. Reid was also found on casings at the scene of the second shooting, though a different gun was used in the first two incidents. The e-bike and Deliveroo disguise were recovered from a flat on the Swinbrook Estate. Mr. Reid’s trial continues at the Old Bailey. He pleaded not guilty on October 9, 2024.
