The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast of continued thunderstorms with rainfall throughout Saturday, with expected high temperatures of 33°C and lows of 25°C.Delhi experiences a monsoon season typically lasting from June to September, frequently enough resulting in significant rainfall and associated travel disruptions. Indira Gandhi International Airport, one of the busiest airports in the South Asian region, handles an average of over 60 million passengers annually, making it notably vulnerable to weather-related delays. The airport is currently undergoing expansion projects, including the construction of a fourth runway, aimed at increasing capacity and improving resilience to disruptions, but these projects are not yet fully completed.
