Delhi Government to Launch 75 Projects on PM Modi‘s Birthday Under ’Seva Pakhwada’
New Delhi, September 14th - the Delhi government will inaugurate 75 projects valued at crores of rupees on September 17th, coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, as part of the ‘Seva Pakhwada’ initiative, announced Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday.
Among the projects slated for launch are three significant facilities focused on care and support for vulnerable populations. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate 15 major projects at Thyagraj Stadium, including the Atal Drishti Girls’ Hostel, the Atal Asha Home for persons with intellectual disability, and the Savitribai Phule Senior Citizens’ Home.
The Savitribai Phule Senior citizens’ Home, located in Paschim Vihar and constructed at a cost of ₹10.64 crore on a 2,257 square meter plot, will accommodate 96 residents. It will offer medical facilities, nutritious meals, hygienic living conditions, and opportunities for recreational and social engagement.
Near Delhi University in Timarpur, the Atal Drishti Girls’ Hostel, designed for 96 visually impaired students, has been built for ₹13.42 crore. The hostel features barrier-free infrastructure, dedicated support staff, and resources to foster both educational and personal growth.
Additionally, the Atal Asha Home in Narela, constructed at a cost of ₹40.60 crore, will provide rehabilitation, care, and training for 220 individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Chief Minister Gupta emphasized that these initiatives demonstrate her government’s dedication to inclusive education, women’s empowerment, and ensuring a dignified life for the elderly. She also noted that the facilities are named in honor of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, recognizing his enduring vision and compassion.
