Delhi Launches Senior Citizens’ Home & Girls’ Hostel for Visually Impaired

Delhi Government to Launch ​75 ⁣Projects on⁢ PM⁣ Modi‘s Birthday Under ‍’Seva Pakhwada’

New Delhi, September 14th -‌ the Delhi ⁣government will inaugurate ⁣75 projects valued at‌ crores of rupees ⁣on September 17th, coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, as part‍ of the ‘Seva Pakhwada’ initiative, announced Chief⁤ Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday.

Among the projects ‌slated for launch ‌are three ​significant facilities⁣ focused on care and support⁣ for vulnerable populations. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate ⁤15 major projects at Thyagraj Stadium, including‍ the Atal Drishti⁣ Girls’ Hostel,⁢ the Atal Asha Home ‌for​ persons with intellectual disability, and ⁣the Savitribai Phule Senior Citizens’ Home.

The Savitribai Phule Senior citizens’ Home,‌ located in Paschim Vihar and constructed at ‍a cost of ₹10.64 crore on a 2,257 square meter plot, will accommodate 96 residents. It will ⁤offer medical facilities, nutritious meals, hygienic‌ living conditions, and opportunities for ‍recreational and⁢ social ⁣engagement.

Near Delhi University⁤ in ‌Timarpur, the Atal Drishti⁢ Girls’ Hostel, designed for 96 visually impaired students, has been built for ₹13.42 crore. The hostel features‍ barrier-free infrastructure, dedicated support staff, and‌ resources ⁣to foster both educational and personal growth.

Additionally, the Atal Asha Home in Narela, constructed at a cost of ₹40.60 ⁢crore, will provide rehabilitation, care, and training for 220 individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Chief Minister ⁢Gupta emphasized that these initiatives‍ demonstrate her government’s dedication⁢ to inclusive education, women’s empowerment, and ensuring a dignified life for the elderly. ⁣She also noted that the facilities are named⁤ in honor of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, recognizing his enduring ⁣vision ​and compassion.
