Bomb Threats Force Evacuation of Delhi, Bombay High Courts
New Delhi/Mumbai – September 12, 2025 – both the Delhi and Bombay High Courts were evacuated and thoroughly searched today following the receipt of a threatening email alleging planned attacks. Security forces were instantly deployed to both locations,cordoning off the premises as a precautionary measure.
the email, purportedly sent from an account named Kanimozhi Thevidiya, contained rambling political commentary and claimed an individual had contacted Pakistan’s ISI to conspire in replicating the 1998 Patna blasts. The message leveled accusations against secular political parties, stating, “The basic funda is secular parties depend on allowing family dynasty politics and corruption to thrive in-order to fight BJP/RSS. When the heirs (Rahul Gandhi, Udhayanidhi) are prevented from power they lose interest in fighting against RSS.”
The email further asserted, “Thus, to create a new evolution of Secular leader, the bottlenecks of the equation the heir apparent will be eliminated, so that the pseudo-secularists will leave and only dedicated secularists will come to party power.” it specifically proposed “Dr.Ezhilan Naganathan take over the DMK” and threatened an acid attack against “Inbanidhi Udhayanidhi, son of Tamil Nadu minister Udhayanidhi Stalin” this week.
The message contained a chilling prediction, stating, “The assets within the Police have been sown since 2017, for this Holy Friday. as a sample, today’s blast in your Delhi high Court will clear the doubt of previous bluffs. Judge Chamber will detonate shortly after Mid-day Islamic prayers.” It also alleged that “a smart and dynamic young Shia Muslim,Dr. Shah Faesal, has successfully made links with pakistan’s ISI cells in Coimbatore to recreate the 1998 blasts today in Patna,” and even provided a contact name and phone number purportedly for accessing IED device locations and defusing codes.
Chief Justice of India BR Gavai has requested a report on the bomb threat case affecting both the Delhi and Bombay High Courts. According to Supreme Court sources, the Chief Justice has directed the Secretary General of the Supreme Court to compile the report and is actively monitoring security arrangements at the High Courts.
Details regarding the nature of the threat to the Bombay High Court remain limited, though reports suggest it received the same email as the Delhi High Court.
This incident occurs amidst a recent increase in similar hoax threat reports targeting institutions in the National Capital region and Mumbai.
The searches of both High Court premises are ongoing.
