Ukrainian Refugee Killed in Unprovoked Tram Attack in North Carolina - Suspect Claims “They Used the Material in My Body”
Charlotte, North Carolina – September 11, 2025 - Iryna Zarutska, a 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee, was fatally stabbed yesterday while riding a tram in Charlotte, North Carolina. The unprovoked attack has sparked outrage and ignited a political debate within the United States.
Decarlos Brown, 34, has been identified as the suspect and is currently in custody. According to a report from the Daily Mail, Brown offered a disturbing description for his actions during a phone call from the detention center: “They used the material in my body.”
