Canadian Politician Jeff Boudreault Claims Death Threat During Public Appearance
Brome-Missisquoi, Quebec – Jeff Boudreault, an actor and bloc Québécois candidate in the upcoming federal elections, alleges he received a death threat during a public interaction at a Tim Hortons. The incident occurred while Boudreault was greeting constituents [[1]].
The Encounter
According to Boudreault, the incident unfolded as he was meeting with locals. We were walking and then at one point, my guide said “I think thay recognized you there,”
Boudreault recounted during an interview with Sophie Durocher on Qub Radio and Télé.
Boudreault approached a table of eight people, extending his hand in greeting. Though, one individual refused to reciprocate the gesture and voiced his disapproval of the Bloc Québécois.
The Threat
The interaction escalated when the individual stated, The block is useless, you are going to get a check in Ottawa.
Boudreault, identifying the man as a hunter, attempted to explain the Bloc Québécois’ role in modifying a Liberal Party reform to protect hunting rights.
The situation took a darker turn when the voter allegedly responded,If I had a Gun,I would get you there.
Boudreault’s Response
despite the alarming nature of the threat, Boudreault has chosen not to involve law enforcement. It’s a gentleman who is clumsy,
he stated, downplaying the incident. However, he emphasized his decision to publicize the event, citing a broader concern about declining civility in political discourse [[1]].
this incident follows Boudreault’s recent condemnation of a hate comment directed at the Quebec artistic community on social media. He is urging citizens to engage respectfully, irrespective of political differences.
Boudreault emphasized the importance of basic courtesy, stating:
You have the right to be for another political party, to have other allegiances. But you know, it’s nothing to turn, to shake hands, to say “yes, hello”. You don’t threaten your party.

He further added, At one point, calm down. look is an opinion debate, the elections. There will be others in two and a half years or in four years.
