The PC version of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will launch on March 19, according to an announcement made during a recent State of Play broadcast, and will feature surprisingly accessible system requirements, Kojima Productions confirmed.
The game’s minimum specifications target 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second, requiring a GTX 1660 or Radeon RX 5500 XT graphics card, an Intel Core i3-10100 or Ryzen 3 3100 processor, and 16GB of RAM. This configuration is notably lower than the demands of many contemporary AAA titles, potentially allowing a wider range of players to experience the game on release.
Scaled performance presets are available, with medium settings aiming for 1080p at 60fps with an RTX 3060 or RX 6600, and recommended settings targeting 1440p at 60fps with an RTX 3070 or RX 6800. The very high preset aims for 4K resolution at 60fps, requiring an RTX 4080 or RX 9070 XT. All presets require 16GB of RAM and a 150GB solid-state drive (SSD) for installation.
A dedicated “Portable” preset has been implemented specifically for handheld gaming PCs, such as the Steam Deck and ROG Ally. This mode supports upscaling technologies including NVIDIA DLSS 4, AMD FSR 4, and Intel XeSS 2. The game also incorporates Guerrilla’s Pico upscaling technology, developed within the Decima engine, which can be used in conjunction with frame generation and is compatible with various graphics cards.
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach also offers support for ultrawide monitors, with cutscenes optimized for 21:9 displays and gameplay extending to 32:9 aspect ratios. The game, a sequel to 2019’s Death Stranding, was initially released on PlayStation 5 on June 26, 2025, and features returning cast members Norman Reedus, Léa Seydoux, and Troy Baker, alongside new additions including Elle Fanning and Shioli Kutsuna. The game is set in Australia and follows Sam Porter Bridges as he attempts to connect isolated survivors and colonies to a chiral network.
Kojima Productions has not yet detailed the additional modes and features coming to both the PC and PlayStation 5 versions of the game, promising further information as the March 19 launch date approaches.
