Dawn of War 4 Trailer Reveals Dark Angels, Non-Linear Campaign Missions
A new story trailer for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4 showcases the Dark Angels as a playable sub-faction and features a glimpse of Lion El’ Johnson, the Chapter’s Primarch. The trailer details the return of four factions to the planet Kronus – Blood Ravens, Orks, Adeptus mechanicus, and Necrons – and introduces new units including a Chaplain on a bike, Necron Skorpekh destroyers, and an Ork Beastboss.
The trailer confirms the campaign will offer players a choice between Dark Angels and Blood Ravens missions, providing a “non-linear” experience according to the official press release.
Warboss Gorgutz, previously established as a victor in Dawn of War: Soulstorm, also appears in the trailer, confirming his continued presence. The Necrons have received expanded detail within the game’s lore.
The campaign narrative is penned by Black library author John French, known for his Warhammer novels, including works focused on Ahriman of the Thousand Sons. This has sparked fan speculation regarding a potential connection between the Blood Ravens and the Thousand Sons legion.
Dawn of War 4 is slated for release in 2026 and is currently available for wishlist addition. A preview by Eurogamer’s Chris Tapsell described the game as “the sequel to the original that RTS fans always wanted.”
