Dani Dyer Withdraws From ‘Strictly Come‍ Dancing’ After Ankle Fracture

London, UK – September 18, 2023 ⁢ – Dani Dyer has exited ⁢ Strictly Come dancing after sustaining a fractured‍ ankle during rehearsals, the BBC‍ has confirmed. the television personality, 29,‍ discovered the extent ​of ⁣her injury following ⁤an MRI​ scan on Monday, forcing her​ to withdraw from the competition before⁤ the ‍first live show.

Dyer,who rose to fame on Love⁤ Island,was partnered ‌with professional dancer⁣ nikita Kuzmin and had already participated ⁢in the pre-recorded launch show broadcast on Saturday. She explained in a statement, “I had a fall on Friday in rehearsals and landed⁢ funny. I thought I had rolled my ⁤foot but it swelled⁤ up badly over the weekend and ⁤after an MRI scan yesterday, it turns out I have​ fractured my ankle.”‌ She added,”Apparently doing the quickstep ‍on a fracture is not advisable (!!) and the doctors have​ saeid I⁢ am ⁢not allowed to dance so l’ve had to pull out of ⁣the show.”

The news marks the ‌second celebrity ⁣departure⁢ from the series‍ before​ the ‍competition ⁢begins, following Game of⁣ Thrones actor ⁤Kristian Nairn’s withdrawal. Strictly Come Dancing‘s executive producer, Sarah James, expressed ‌sadness ‌over Dyer’s exit, stating that her partnership with kuzmin had “got off to the⁣ most sensational ‍start.” ‍James added, “Everyone ⁤on the show ⁤is incredibly sad that she’s no longer able ⁢to compete in this year’s series.”

Dyer shared her⁢ disappointment ⁣in a tearful video posted to Instagram, ⁤saying she was “heartbroken” and “absolutely gutted.” she indicated she would ⁢be taking ⁣a break from social media ​while recovering.

Fellow Strictly professionals and judge shirley Ballas ⁢have offered well wishes. Ballas posted on Instagram, “I’m ⁤so so sorry.But health ‍is​ most ‍important.Get well soon Angel.” Dianne Buswell and Johannes Radebe also expressed their support online.
