Dane Erikstrup takes Basketball Talents to Europe, Signs with dutch Club Donar
Pullman, WA – Former Washington State forward Dane Erikstrup has announced his decision to play professionally overseas, signing with Donar, a team based in Groningen, Netherlands. The move follows Erikstrup’s recent transfer to WSU under coach David Riley in spring 2024, after two seasons at Eastern Washington.
Erikstrup, a native of the Portland area, possesses dual American and Danish citizenship, providing a connection to the European region. His international experience includes representing the Danish senior national team during the 2025 Eurobasket pre-Qualifiers in the summer of 2023. He also contributed to the Danish U18 team’s advancement in the Nordic championship.
During his single season with the Cougars, Erikstrup was a consistent contributor, averaging 12.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. He demonstrated proficiency from beyond the arc, shooting 37% from three-point range. Erikstrup started all 34 games for WSU, helping the team achieve a 19-15 record and a first-round appearance in the College Basketball Crown. He reached a season-high of 24 points against his former team, Eastern Washington.
Erikstrup’s collegiate journey began at Division II Cal Poly Pomona in the 2021-22 season, where he averaged 11.6 points and 5.2 rebounds. He then transferred to eastern Washington, playing in all 34 games off the bench as a sophomore and starting two games as a junior. In his time with the Eagles, Erikstrup was part of teams that secured back-to-back Big Sky regular season titles.
