Hanoi,Vietnam – Vietnam is bolstering its national cybersecurity defenses through a multi-pronged strategy, emphasizing continuous monitoring, standardized response protocols, and enhanced training for personnel. This initiative comes as the nation aims to solidify its position in cybersecurity, highlighted by a recent first-place win at the ASEAN cyber Shield competition.
The commitment to robust cybersecurity is underscored by the establishment of the National Cybersecurity Incident response Alliance. This collaborative body, initiated by the National Cybersecurity Center, brings together key stakeholders from government, technology, finance, and critical infrastructure sectors. Its primary objective is to facilitate information sharing, provide early warnings, and offer crucial technical assistance during cybersecurity incidents.
To ensure a swift and effective response to cyber threats, organizations are prioritizing around-the-clock security monitoring. This is complemented by the progress of standardized contingency plans and incident response procedures. furthermore, thorough training programs and regular technical drills are being implemented to equip staff with the necessary skills to manage cyber events efficiently.
In a significant move to strengthen the nation’s legal framework, the Ministry of Public Security is proposing the consolidation of the law on cyber information security and the law on cybersecurity into a single, comprehensive cybersecurity law. This legislative effort is slated for submission to the national assembly during its 10th session later this year, with the aim of enacting it in 2025.
