November 2, 2026 Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor Entertainment

Streaming service Crunchyroll has officially launched in Korea with localized subtitles and user environments, accompanied by a pop-up store at AK Plaza Hongdae in Mapo-gu, Seoul, featuring titles like Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle and Chainsaw Man, according to Wikitree.

Crunchyroll Festival Korea 2026 Pop-Up Offers Prizes and Photos

The “Crunchyroll Festival Korea 2026” pop-up runs for 16 days following its opening on October 24. Visitors complete missions such as posting photos from designated zones and following the official Instagram account to earn four stamps. These stamps grant entry into a lucky draw featuring prizes including posters, stickers, tattoo stickers, keyrings, and cleaning fabrics, as reported by Wikitree. A dedicated photo booth lets attendees shoot free pictures using frames themed around Chainsaw Man, Demon Slayer, and Crunchyroll branding.

Crunchyroll Screens Three Titles Including Iron Wok Jan!

Alongside the physical exhibits, Crunchyroll held a special screening event showcasing three titles from its platform library: Iron Wok Jan!, 전학 간 학교의 청순가련한 미소녀가 옛날에 남자라고 생각해서 같이 놀던 소꿉친구였던 일, and Let’s Go Mononoke Squad. Wikitree reported that Iron Wok Jan! adapts a 1995 manga series centering on a 16-year-old cooking prodigy named Jan Akiyama who views culinary arts strictly as competition.

Expanding Subculture Reach Ahead of AGF 2026

The platform’s offline expansion continues past the Seoul pop-up event. Crunchyroll confirmed plans to participate in upcoming domestic gaming and animation events, including the subculture convention AGF 2026 scheduled for December at KINTEX in Ilsan. The strategy combines digital video streaming with regional experiential activations to engage local fandoms.
