Actor Crispin Glover, best known for his role in “Back to the Future,” is facing a lawsuit alleging battery, fraud and emotional distress, filed by a woman identified in court documents as Jane Doe. The lawsuit, which surfaced this week, details accusations of manipulation, control, and physical assault.
According to the complaint, Doe alleges Glover lured her from the United Kingdom to Los Angeles in 2024 with promises of a career in Hollywood. She claims Glover persistently contacted her via social media for years prior, eventually inviting her to live with him and work as his assistant. The suit alleges that upon arriving in Los Angeles, Glover expected her to be a live-in girlfriend and work without compensation.
The woman asserts she became reliant on Glover after selling her belongings and ending her rental agreement in Europe based on his assurances. She claims he exerted control over her movements and social interactions, and that she had no other support network in the United States. The lawsuit further alleges that on March 2, 2024, after informing Glover she was leaving to attend a mosque, she was threatened with being locked out of his Silver Lake home. Doe claims she left anyway and, upon returning, found herself locked out.
The complaint details an alleged assault that occurred when Doe attempted to retrieve her possessions, including her cats, from Glover’s residence. She claims Glover grabbed her neck and choked her, resulting in a visible wound and lasting scar. Following the alleged incident, Doe claims Glover contacted law enforcement, falsely reporting that she was an unlawful intruder.
Law enforcement sources confirmed to TMZ that officers responded to an assault report at Glover’s home on March 2, 2024, but no arrests were made. The sources indicated Glover reported being assaulted by both a man and a woman. Doe also alleges Glover subsequently filed a restraining order against her, causing damage to her career and reputation.
The lawsuit further claims Glover continued to attempt to manipulate Doe into a sexual relationship even after the alleged assault and the filing of the restraining order. Doe is seeking damages for the alleged harm she suffered. She is represented by attorney Dev Das of the Geragos & Geragos law firm.
A representative for Crispin Glover has denied the allegations, stating that Glover was the victim of an unprovoked felony assault by Doe on March 2, 2024. The representative claims Glover contacted the LAPD, who investigated and arrested Doe. The representative also stated that these facts are documented in law enforcement records and in the restraining order Glover filed against Doe at the time. Glover intends to “vigorously defend himself and pursue all available relief,” according to the statement.
