A 10-year-old boy was discovered alone in an airport terminal, preventing his parents from departing on a flight. Airport staff alerted teh police, who then contacted the aircraft’s pilot. Authorities intervened just before the plane’s departure, apprehending the parents.
An air traffic controller recounted the incident in a TikTok video that has garnered over 329,000 views. The boy reportedly explained that his parents were on the flight, which was bound for their country of origin. The controller expressed disbelief that the parents would abandon their child due to a “paper problem,” stating, “Apparently, for them, it was normal. Not for me, even less for the police. I saw a lot in my job, but that is really unimaginable.”
The couple was taken to the airport police station, where their son was also brought. It remains unclear if the parents have been taken into custody.
