Consumers Energy Outage Affects Portland Residents

Consumers ‌Energy Announces Planned PowerOutage for Portland ⁣Residents


PORTLAND, Mich. – Consumers Energy is ⁢preparing‍ for a planned ​power‍ outage affecting residents of Portland,⁢ Michigan, beginning at 11 p.m. ⁣on‌ Saturday and continuing until 8 a.m. on Sunday.

The outage ​is necessary to allow crews to install and connect new ‌power lines to the poles ⁣that ⁢will serve the cityS⁢ new Grant Street substation.​ This critical infrastructure project is designed to‍ substantially strengthen portland’s electric ​system and improve reliability for years ‌to come.

Consumers Energy anticipates the grant Street ‍substation will be fully operational by spring ​2026. The upgrade represents a substantial investment​ in⁤ the community’s ⁣energy future.
