Enabling populations to have access to quality health care wherever they are. This is one of the major objectives of the Ivorian government. To achieve this, the government is building, rehabilitating and equipping health centers throughout the national territory.
In Edjambo, in the South ComoĂ© region, the Rural Health Center (CSR) has brought care closer to the population. The villagers are happy and relieved to benefit from quality care close to home. “No more long journeys to get treatment. My wife was urgently evacuated here three days ago. I am happy to see that she is already doing much better,” rejoices Lazare SĂ©hui, primary school principal.
In the Nawa region, the MĂ©agui General Hospital was inaugurated in April 2022, to put an end to the ordeal of the department’s 400,000 inhabitants. “This hospital brings relief to all the inhabitants of the MĂ©agui department, especially women. Before, in the event of complications related to childbirth, we would go to SoubrĂ© for care,” confides MĂ©lanie Kouakou, a shopkeeper in MĂ©agui.
Built on an area of 5.1 hectares, the hospital has 14 departments and 100 beds for a total cost of 24.6 billion FCFA.
These hospitals, built throughout CĂ´te d’Ivoire, strengthen the Ivorian health system and enable populations to benefit from quality health services wherever they are.
As part of the National Development Program (PND 2021-2025), 6 other general hospitals will be built in Kong, TaĂŻ, Bingerville, Daloa, Doropo and Anyama by 2025.
