Nawell Madani Under Investigation for Allegedly Assaulting Child in Paris
Paris, France – Comedian Nawell Madani is the subject of a criminal investigation after allegations surfaced that she struck a six-year-old boy on the Champs-Élysées in Paris on Monday evening. The Paris prosecutor’s office confirmed Wednesday, October 8, that an investigation has been opened for “violence against a 15-year-old minor,” clarifying the age was initially reported incorrectly.
The boy’s father filed a complaint alleging Madani kicked his son in the chest after the child approached her with his brothers requesting a photograph. The incident has sparked public outcry and raises questions about appropriate responses to unwanted attention, notably involving children. If convicted, Madani could face criminal charges and penalties.
According to the father’s account, published in Le Parisien, his son, Djulian, ran toward Madani while she was walking her dog, attempting to pet the animal. “She got mad at us, then she said, ‘stay back,'” the father reported. “The big guys stopped short. but Djulian was already running and as he didn’t hear, he continued running towards her.”
A witness, nabil, a local resident and acquaintance of the family, corroborated the father’s account to Le Parisien, stating, “She turns around and gives him a huge kick in the chest… while he was on the ground, I heard her say to the child: ‘Now you are going to respect me.'” The father claims Madani left the scene without concern for his son’s well-being.
Madani voluntarily presented herself at the 8th arrondissement police station Monday evening, stating she had been approached by children and, fearing a theft, struck one of them. She anticipated a complaint would be filed, which afterward occurred. The investigation is ongoing.
