Colomiers Artistic Swimming: French Championship Results & Champion

Angers, France Swimmers from the US Colomiers artistic swimming club achieved multiple top-ten finishes at the French Avenirs and All Categories Championships held in Angers from June 28th to 30th, culminating in a national championship win for Eva Lafontan.

The US Colomiers team showcased strong performances across various age groups.In the Avenirs category (8-12 year olds), Charlotte Lemaire (born 2015) secured 11th place in solo competition. Mahé Croire, Chiara Rodriguez, and Mila Cazcarra, all born in 2014, finished 10th, 13th, and 16th respectively in their solo events. Marie Trillot (2013) placed 14th, and Lucie Lannes (2013) finished 15th. The duo of Marie Trillot and Lucie Lannes achieved 11th place in the free duo event with a Rockabilly-themed routine, while Mahé Croire and Ines Cabrol secured 14th place performing a circus-themed duo. The Avenirs team as a whole ranked 9th in the free ballet and 8th in the acrobatic ballet.

Competing in the all Categories division, the National Center for Access to the High level team – comprised of Léonie Cadeat, Jade Cheene, Axelle Deguilhem, Lucile Frenger Rivoal, Clémentine Guyon, Yasmine Izegrar, Thaïs Lair Henry, ariane Lavois Briat, and Juliette Lemaire – earned a 4th-place finish in the acrobatic ballet, performing to a medley of Michael Jackson songs. Clémentine Guyon, Léonie Cadeat, and Lucile Frenger Rivoal placed 6th in the free duo event. The senior team, featuring Emma Béchard, Estelle Decramer, Marine Edourgeon, Margaux Lalanne, Laura Lucaccio, Anna Richerol, Laure Vergne, Charlotte Ly, Juliette ly, and Emmanuelle Gachie, finished 6th nationally in the combined ballet, set to a cabaret theme. Marine Edourgeon also achieved a 12th-place finish in the free solo event.

The highlight of the championships was eva lafontan’s gold medal win in the free solo event, performing a choreography inspired by Texas. This victory confirms Lafontan’s status as a leading artistic swimmer in france. The US Colomiers artistic swimming club, based in Colomiers, France, has a long history of developing competitive athletes and fostering a strong community around the sport. Artistic swimming, formerly known as synchronized swimming, requires a unique blend of strength, versatility, endurance, and artistic expression.
