Colombian Skating Federation Named Team of the Year by El Espectador
Bogotá, Colombia – The Colombian Skating Federation (Fedepatín) has been awarded “Team of the Year” by El Espectador newspaper, recognizing the nation’s continued dominance in international skating competitions. The honor acknowledges the collective dedication of athletes, coaches, leaders, support staff, and clubs driving Colombia’s success on the world stage.
Colombia’s sustained leadership in skating stems from a rigorous, structured advancement process fostered through collaboration between the Federation, leagues, coaches, and families.Fedepatín President Alberto Herrera Ayala stated, “This achievement belongs to everyone,” emphasizing the unified effort behind the team’s consistent performance. beyond the team accolade,Fedepatín received multiple individual nominations. Alberto Herrera Ayala was recognized as ”Best Leader of the Year” for his administrative and sporting leadership. Veteran skaters Brayan Carreño (figure skating), Juan Jacobo mantilla, and María Fernanda Timms (speed skating) were nominated for “Older Athlete of the Year,” alongside coach Elías del Valle, who earned a nomination for “Coach of the Year.”
