COFEN Training Commission Ordinance – September 2025

COFEN Establishes Commission to Enhance Ethical ⁤Process Training

brasília, ⁤DF – September 1, 2025 – The Federal Council of Nursing (COFEN) today‍ formalized the creation of a Training⁢ and Training committee dedicated to ethical processes, aiming‌ to standardize and improve the quality of opinions and judgments in ethical cases. Ordinance no. 1808, signed on September ​1, 2025, establishes ⁤the committee’s structure and operational guidelines, marking a meaningful step towards strengthening ethical governance within the Brazilian nursing profession.

The committee’s formation stems⁤ from Cofen Decision No. 150,⁢ approved on September ‍1, 2025,⁣ recognizing the need for specialized training in navigating⁣ complex ethical dilemmas. Composed of ⁤eight members‌ representing key⁣ COFEN leadership and advisory roles, the committee will be ​coordinated by Dr. Manoel Carlos Neri da Silva,President of COFEN (COREN-RO 63.592-ENF-IR). Other members include Dr. Daniel⁢ Menezes⁤ de Souza (COREN-RS 105.771-NF), ⁤Vice-President of COFEN; ⁤Dr. Alberto Jorge Santiago Cabral, COFEN Legislative Advisor; Dr. Alana da Silva Vasconcelos, Technical advisor to the​ COFEN Legislative ​Advisory; Dr. Tycianna Goes da Silva Monte Alegre, Cofen Attorney general; Dr. Márcio Raleigue Abreu Lima Verde (Coren-AC 85.068-NF), Head of Cofen’s Ethical Process Division; Dr. Paula Andreia Noronha, COREN-RS Attorney General; and Dr. Sergio Aparecido cleto (COREN-SP 80.017-NF), President of COREN-SP.

The Department of Professional exercise ⁤Management⁤ (DGEP/cofen) and the⁢ Department of Corporate Education (DEC/Cofen) will oversee the committee’s activities and certify its outputs. Professionals participating ​in the committee’s ⁣work will ⁢be eligible ‍for daily allowances⁢ and travel​ expenses, as​ outlined in COFEN Resolutions No. 740/2024 and 748/2024.The ordinance‌ takes effect immediately upon signature, as stipulated in Article 3.
