Co Wicklow Crash: Three Teenagers Hospitalized After Car Accident

Three Teenagers Hospitalized After Co. Wicklow Road Accident

Carrigroe, Tinahely, ‌Co. Wicklow – November 26, 2023

Three teenage‌ girls are currently‌ in serious condition following a ⁤road traffic collision that occurred near Carrigroe, Tinahely, in County Wicklow last night.

The incident, involving a single car, took place ⁤at approximately 11:30 PM when the vehicle collided with a ditch adn later overturned.

Authorities confirm that the driver, a male in his late⁢ teens, and three other passengers escaped injury.

The injured teenagers were transported to both Tallaght University Hospital ⁢and St. Vincent’s University Hospital for treatment.

The affected stretch of road remains closed this morning, with diversions currently in ‍place. Motorists are advised to seek option routes.

Gardaí (Irish Police) are⁤ actively seeking information from the public.Anyone who may have witnessed the accident, or who‍ possesses ⁢dashcam footage from the Ballinglen ‌to Knockananna route around the time of the incident, is urged to come forward and assist with the inquiry.

Local Fine Gael TD brian Brennan stated: “This accident‍ happened late last night in the Tinahely region of Co Wicklow. It is believed a‌ car with a number of ‌occupants lost control on the Ballinglen to knockananna route.

“From⁣ the information we have received, three of these occupants, all⁢ females, are now being‌ treated for serious injuries in tallaght University Hospital. At this stage our thoughts and prayers are with ⁣the injured and their families.”
