Tim Burton‘s “Batman” and “Batman Returns” Get Dolby Cinema Re-Release This August
Fans of Tim Burton’s iconic takes on the Caped Crusader have a special treat in store. Both 1989’s “Batman” and it’s 1992 sequel, “Batman returns,” are set to be screened in Dolby Cinema at AMC Theatres nationwide for a special one-night event on August 25. This marks the first time either film will be presented with Dolby vision and Dolby Atmos immersive audio technology. “Batman Returns” holds historical significance as the first feature film released in Dolby Digital, pioneering the surround sound experience.

Adding to the cinematic nostalgia,the beloved family film “Casper” is also returning to the big screen for its 30th anniversary. The horror-comedy, which was groundbreaking for featuring a fully CGI character in the lead role, will be shown in theaters from october 3 through Halloween. These re-releases are part of a broader trend of bringing classic films back to theaters. Earlier this year, “Spider-Man” movies were shown on September 26. Looking ahead,Disney has also scheduled a theatrical re-release of the original “Star Wars” for its 50th anniversary on April 30,2027.
