Chris Pratt’s Mercy Now Streaming on Prime Video | Release Date & Details
The science fiction thriller Mercy, starring Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson, began streaming on Amazon Prime Video today, March 22, 2026, after a theatrical run that saw it gross $54.6 million worldwide, according to multiple reports.
Directed by Timur Bekmambetov, Mercy centers on Los Angeles Police Department Detective Christopher Raven (Pratt), who finds himself on trial for the murder of his wife. He is given 90 minutes to prove his innocence to Judge Maddox (Ferguson), an artificial intelligence he previously championed. The film also features Kali Reis, Annabelle Wallis, Chris Sullivan, and Kylie Rogers in supporting roles.
Despite receiving largely negative reviews from critics – holding a 25% rating on Rotten Tomatoes – the film garnered a significantly more positive response from general audiences, achieving an 83% score on the site’s Popcornmeter. The film’s premise, set in a 2029 Los Angeles where AI judges are used to address a surge in crime, involves a high-stakes trial where defendants must present evidence of their innocence within a strict time limit or face execution via sonic blast.
Mercy marks the second collaboration between Pratt and Bekmambetov, following their operate together on the 2008 action thriller Wanted. The film was produced by Charles Roven, Robert Amidon, Bekmambetov, and Majd Nassif. The $60 million production, distributed by Amazon MGM Studios in the United States and Canada and Sony Pictures Releasing International, premiered in Regal Cinemas on January 19, 2026, before a wider release on January 23, 2026.
Pratt’s recent projects include a role in Netflix’s The Electric State, produced by the Russo Brothers, and the Prime Video spin-off series The Terminal List: Dark Wolf. He is also set to reprise his voice role as Mario in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, scheduled for release on April 3, 2026.
