GuadalajaraS Chivas board is reportedly in⁢ talks‍ to acquire Brian Gutiérrez, the 22-year-old Mexican-American midfielder currently playing for ​Chicago Fire FC, as a‌ potential reinforcement for the Clausura 2026 season. The ‌pursuit comes after Gutiérrez recently obtained his ‍Mexican passport, opening the possibility for him to​ represent ⁣the⁣ Mexican National Team ‍and ⁣play⁢ in Liga MX.

Reporter‌ Jesús Hernández revealed on his YouTube channel that discussions are progressing positively between chivas and ⁢Gutiérrez’s camp. “Brian Gutiérrez, the Mexican-American who has just received his passport, his Mexican papers.Even though he plays for the ⁤United States, it is indeed intended, it was captivating and they tell me that progress has been ⁢made, that there is willingness, and ‍on both⁤ sides. It ⁤seems that he is walking to be a reinforcement‌ for Chivas,” Hernández stated. ⁢He clarified that while a deal isn’t finalized, “progress ⁢was made with Brian Gutiérrez.”

According to Transfermarkt, a soccer player evaluation‌ portal, Gutiérrez’s estimated value ⁢is $5 million, and his contract with Chicago Fire is valid through December 2028. Chivas is also reportedly ​negotiating with Atlético de San⁢ Luis‍ for Eduardo Águila,with ⁤San Luis having already ⁤outlined their conditions for ‌the agreement.
