Chile Opens 2027 FAE Grants for Arts Education Projects With Up to $10M Funding
The Fondo de Fomento al Arte en la Educación has opened applications for its 2027 funding cycle, offering up to $10 million per initiative to support artistic training in educational establishments, as cultura.gob.cl reported. The Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage opened these applications through the Fondo de Fomento al Arte en la Educación in its Specialized Artistic Training Programs line in Educational Establishments, aiming to support arts teaching in formal education and generate knowledge that helps improve educational practices.
Grant Streams Provide Funding for School Arts Education
Grants are structured across distinct streams to target different operational needs within schools. The Gestión Educativa Cultural Territorial modality provides up to $10 million to strengthen systematic formative processes. Meanwhile, the Investigación/Estudios and Talentos Artísticos modalities each offer up to $6 million. The Research category focuses on generating knowledge applied to school arts education, while Talentos Artísticos supports individual training plans for students from 3° básico to 3° medio, accompanied by a designated tutor or trainer.
Complementary data from fondosdecultura.cl details parallel non-formal funding structures for cultural institutions. That framework includes specialized early artistic training programs alongside dedicated lines for applied research, team specialization, curriculum management, territorial cultural educational management, and specialized artistic talents for youth aged 7 to 18. Maximum allocations under the non-formal organizational stream reach up to $12 million for territorial management projects.
Chilean Non-Profit Legal Entities May Apply for Grants
Eligible applicants must be Chilean legal entities under public or private law, non-profit, operating on behalf of state-subsidized educational establishments possessing a valid Rol Base de Datos. Schools must demonstrate official recognition as an arts school or maintain a continuous five-year track record in artistic training. For this latter option, the guidelines establish differentiated requirements for establishments with Full School Day and basic education without Full School Day. Educational institutions applying under the general school-based lines can submit one proposal per modality, except for the Talentos Artísticos category, which permits up to three submissions.
Financial compliance involves strict co-funding thresholds. The Gestión Educativa Cultural Territorial and research modalities require a minimum co-financing contribution equivalent to 10% of the requested amount. This match can be satisfied via own resources or third-party contributions in cash, services, or valued goods. All projects must integrate a gender perspective into their core operational plans.
Applications Close December 3 with Execution Starting March 2027
The application window closes on December 3, 2026, at 15:00 hours. Approved projects must commence execution between March 1 and July 31, 2027. Selected initiatives carry a maximum implementation duration of eight months.
