Additional ⁣Snowfall Expected for Chicago ⁣Area After Record November Storm

Chicago-area ⁢residents should prepare for⁣ another round of snowfall, wiht 2 to 4 inches forecast to fall through Tuesday evening,​ according to the National Weather⁤ Service. ​This comes less ⁣than a week⁢ after a historic snowstorm blanketed the⁤ city, marking the snowiest ⁤November day on‍ record.

The⁣ anticipated​ snowfall will⁤ add to the challenges already faced by commuters and city services following Saturday’s storm, which deposited nearly⁤ 9 inches​ of snow in some areas. The ‌city ​initiated it’s winter parking ‌ban ⁤on Monday, ​leading to the towing of vehicles ‌to accommodate snow removal efforts. The ongoing winter ‍weather underscores the importance ‍of preparedness ⁣for Chicagoans as the season​ progresses.

Meteorologist ​Jake⁣ Petr‌ reported Tuesday ⁣will remain‌ “cold and dry ⁤through the⁤ day,” with temperatures‌ in ⁢the mid- to‍ low-20s. However, the approaching ​snow system is expected to bring‌ additional accumulation. ⁤

O’HareInternational⁤ Airport recorded 8.4 inches of snow ​on ‍Saturday and 0.3 inches​ on Sunday, while Midway Airport received 7.2 inches‍ as of Sunday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. Saturday’s snowfall surpassed previous ‌records for a single November day in Chicago.

City officials ‍have not yet ⁣announced any changes to the existing ⁤winter parking ban. Residents are ⁣advised to monitor local news and weather updates for the ​latest facts and to exercise caution while traveling.
