cheyenne Artist Jordan Dean Expands Mural Reach Beyond Wyoming

Cheyenne artist jordan Dean is seeing his Western-inspired murals gain national recognition, with projects now taking him to Alabama and Maryland, in addition to his ongoing work within Wyoming.

Dean’s current project, an 80-foot tall mural on a water tank, is approximately 20% complete and progressing as weather permits. This marks the tallest mural Dean has undertaken, though he has previously completed large-scale works, including a 60-foot by 80-foot mural and several around 30 feet tall.

His expanding portfolio includes a important mural project in Alabama, which he expects to complete shortly before returning to Cheyenne to continue the water tank project. Following that, Dean is scheduled to travel to Maryland for another mural commission at the end of August or early September.

Dean attributes the growth of his out-of-state commissions to a mural he created in Cheyenne for an incoming trampoline park.Matt Hubbard, who was involved with the installation company, was impressed by Dean’s work and later hired him for a group therapy clinic he was establishing in South Carolina. Hubbard subsequently engaged Dean for a second location in north Carolina.

This word-of-mouth success has led to further opportunities in other states, a growth Dean finds rewarding. “It’s taken off a little bit,” Dean commented. “It will be fun to see where these projects take me in the future. I’m really grateful I get to do what I love for a living and help take care of my kids.”
