Cherpovets MFC Offers Support to Veterans & Families – Contact Info Included

A novel multi-functional center (MFC) in Cherepovets, Russia, began hosting receptions dedicated to addressing issues faced by participants in the “special military operation” (SVO) and their families on Wednesday, February 25th, according to Andrey Nakroshaev, the acting head of the city.

The MFC, located at Mendeleeva 8a, officially opened on February 24th with a visit from Governor Georgy Filimonov. Eight individuals sought assistance during the inaugural reception, presenting concerns ranging from housing and financial benefits to medical care, disability parking, prosthetic devices, and legal counsel.

Nakroshaev, who was appointed as the acting mayor of Cherepovets on February 24, 2026, by Governor Filimonov, stated he participated in the reception and emphasized that all requests would be addressed. He highlighted a particularly moving encounter with a veteran who, despite suffering severe injuries during the SVO, is now committed to leading an adaptive medicine group at the center to aid others in their recovery. “A true example of courage, strength of spirit, and love for the Motherland,” Nakroshaev said.

The receptions will be held every Wednesday at the new MFC from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM. Appointments can be scheduled by calling +7 921 056-30-82.

Governor Filimonov described Nakroshaev as an “impartial candidate” who would approach his duties without political bias, following a period of “training for increased management efficiency.” The previous mayor of Cherepovets, Roman Maslov, resigned on February 18th.
