Chelsea FC Signs Circle and USDC as Front-of-Shirt Sponsors

August 30, 2026 Alex Carter - Sports Editor Sport

Chelsea FC has agreed to a principal partnership with internet financial platform Circle Internet Group, securing a front-of-shirt sponsorship that features the company and its USDC stablecoin brand starting with the 2026-27 season, according to official club announcements. The branding will appear across the men’s, women’s, and academy kits, making its Premier League debut when the men’s team hosts Brighton & Hove Albion FC on Sunday.

Financial Impact and Contract Structure

While the exact financial terms of the agreement remain undisclosed, sources cited by Simon Johnson of The Athletic report that the valuation aligns with the going rate for a top Premier League club, with Chelsea targeting figures in the region of $67.9M-$81.5M a year. The initial agreement covers the remainder of the season, though it includes an option to extend for a longer duration.

This partnership ends a lengthy period without a primary shirt sponsor. According to Nizaar Kinsella of BBC.com, Chelsea entered the season without a front-of-shirt commercial partner for the fourth consecutive year, marking the longest stretch any Premier League club has spent without such an agreement since the conclusion of their deal with telecommunications company Three at the end of the 2022-23 campaign. Chelsea President and COO Jason Gannon led the negotiation process, evaluating multiple contenders before finalizing the deal with Circle.

Integration Across Men’s, Women’s, and Academy Squads

The agreement covers all competitive tiers at the club. Circle and USDC branding will feature prominently on the front of shirts for the men’s team, academy squads, and Chelsea FC Women as the latter begins its inaugural season at Stamford Bridge.

Jeremy Allaire, Co-Founder and CEO of Circle, noted that partnering with the club connects the digital asset platform with a global sports community. Kash Razzaghi, Chief Commercial Officer at Circle, added that the visibility on the Chelsea jersey demonstrates the global scalability of digital money. On the club side, Jason Gannon stated that the partnership places Chelsea at the forefront of football’s digital evolution. Aki Mandhar, CEO of Chelsea FC Women, highlighted the integration of the brand for the team’s historic move to Stamford Bridge, while Todd Kline, President of Commercial at Chelsea FC, emphasized the strategic alignment between the club’s global ambitions and Circle’s financial technology infrastructure.

Future Outlook for Commercial Operations

The addition of Circle Internet Group provides a substantial commercial boost to Chelsea’s balance sheet, continuing a trend of expanding global partnerships managed by the club’s front office.
