Chef Devina Hermawan Addresses unauthorized use of Siomay Recipe Photo by syahrini’s Sister’s Business
jakarta, Indonesia – Celebrity chef Devina Hermawan has publicly addressed the unauthorized use of a photograph from her popular siomay recipe video by Pawon Bu Carikan, a business operated by Aisyahrani, the sister of Indonesian singer Syahrini. The issue came to light on Monday, october 6th, after concerned followers alerted Chef Devina to the use of her image for commercial purposes.
The photograph, taken from the cover of chef Devina’s siomay recipe video on her YouTube channel, was reportedly used by Pawon Bu Carikan to promote and sell their own siomay products. Netizens quickly pointed out the discrepancy, particularly those familiar with Chef Devina’s content and cooking tutorials.
Chef Devina’s team confirmed the issue to detikFood on Tuesday, October 7th, stating that no prior permission or communication regarding the image use was sought from the chef or her representatives. Despite the public attention, chef Devina had not received any outreach from Pawon Bu Carikan as of the report.
“From us there are no plans to take legal action even though many direct messages…that enter from the law office offer legal assistance, because I always prioritize ethics and etiquette both in creating content on social media and running a business,” Chef Devina stated through her team.
